When the sand is stacked and packed through this zone, it can deliver some long, mind-bending tubes. For a period in 2022 Greenmount had incredible sand and everyone made the most of it. What it lacks in size it makes up for in length and shape!

GREENMOUNT
Everyone’s favourite and listed as one of the top 10 waves of the world (many times over) Kirra had an active run in 2022. For years after the council attempted (in 2013) to bring the big groyne back to its former length (in the hope of the wave returning to its former glory) all eyes have been on her every swell waiting to see the magic happen - the problem is they never returned it to the same length. Although many people believe Kirra is a shadow of its former self, when it gets going on the outside bank it can deliver some of the best tubes in the world.
